Role overview:
This is an opportunity to grow as a Software Engineer II within Consumer & Community Banking – Connected Commerce, building secure, stable, and scalable components while learning and advancing on an agile team. The role focuses on executing standard software solutions, troubleshooting, and contributing to reliable applications that operate within complex upstream and downstream system contexts.
What you’ll do:
- Design, develop, and troubleshoot software with attention to system implications across data pipelines and services while maintaining security and quality standards.
- Write high‑quality code with limited guidance in at least one programming language and contribute to continuous integration practices.
- Apply SDLC toolchain best practices, agile methods, and resiliency/security principles to improve delivery outcomes.
- Analyze large, diverse datasets to detect issues and support decisions for stable, secure application development.

Requirements:
- Formal training/certification in software development concepts and 2+ years’ applied experience across Java Spark, AWS, and SQL.
- Hands‑on application development, testing, operational stability, and proficiency coding in at least one modern language (e.g., Java).
- Practical experience with large‑scale data processing, data pipelines, data modeling/warehousing/migration, and cloud services.
- Good hands‑on knowledge of AWS services/components and understanding of Kubernetes.
- Experience with domain‑driven design, microservices, SDLC practices, IBM MQ, Apache Kafka, agile/CI‑CD, resiliency, and security.
- Ability to develop, debug, and maintain code in a large enterprise setting and work with database querying languages.
Preferred:
- Experience designing/building REST APIs in Java and familiarity with modern front‑end technologies.
- Exposure to hybrid cloud architectures and AWS certification is a plus.
